What motivated you to plant your church in the city that you are in?
We were moved by what we saw in our community. There are so many that are lost and without hope. We could not ignore these issues while knowing that Jesus desired to meet them where they were at. It is the local church that provides a safe place for people to experience healing and transformation. We felt great passion and excitement that we could plant a church where people could experience freedom through the restorative message of the cross.
What do you love about your church and community?
It’s a place where people from all walks and stages of life can easily come into and belong. No judgment. No cultural limitations. It’s modern and suitable for busy people. A church that our kids are excited to attend.
What has been one of your greatest moments since planting your church?
Within the last 5 months of launching, 78 people said yes to Jesus! Seeing just one person come closer to Jesus makes it all worth it.
What has been one of the toughest moments you’ve experienced in ministry?
Investing into building core team relationships to have them to go a different way without communicating that decision has been really difficult.
What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself or your church since you planted?
We’ve become more confident and passionate about the work God is doing in and through our lives, despite challenges. We’ve experienced freedom from religious or traditional mindsets.
What do you want to share with someone thinking about becoming a church planter?
If you are thinking about planting a church, it is wise to get multiple confirmations if that’s what God wants you to do. If you are married, ensure your spouse (and kids) are supportive. Get every aspect of your life in order as best you can. The journey ahead will be tough and filled with joyful highs and tearful lows. Some key people may walk away. There will be days you will want to quit. Fast and pray. Receive God’s fresh revelation for your unique plant. Build your team with passion. God will provide miraculously as you work hard and cast vision. Be teachable and invest in building relationships with other ARC leaders. You’ll be amazed!
How has being a part of ARC impacted your life + family?
ARC made it possible for the ‘God dream’ inside of us to become reality. The relationships, mentoring, love, playbook, and resources we received from ARC was phenomenal. ARC has helped us to step into our purpose, in the flavour God has called us to. As a family, we are running with passion, and love what God has done through us, with the help of ARC.
